![]() Then there's major balance issues with paralysis spells on bosses - I took 0 damage against Voldemort and only 1HP damage from Quirrel before I was able to trivially stunlock them until they died. Like you fight the same 4-5 enemy types, rats, frogs, bats mainly, but they've got palette swaps to indicate degrees of toughness and weaknesses but I was never able to consistently remember what colour had which weakness and often just had to randomly throw spells at them blindly and hope for the best. I think the lack of enemy variety and the poorly explained strategy with them is probably one of the biggest weaknesses. Plus a few bugs I encountered other than the aforementioned gamebreaking one. A lot of mechanics aren't well explained, there's several missable, important things, you need to grind if you do things in certain orders, etc. The cart I bought had someone stuck on a gamebreaking bug on all 3 save files, which broke my heart because that's exactly where I got stuck as a kid and was never able to progress!īeing able to finish it was great, and while very cool I can definitely see rough edges as well. ![]() I recently finished the GBC Philosopher's Stone. ![]()
